On Nov. 29 at the Doug Fir Lounge in Portland, Ore., Portland-based musical ensemble Blitzen Trapper performed the second to last show of their 2013 tour. Openers Alialujah Choir set the mood for the night’s entertainment featuring soulful, energetic folk harmonies that the couples-filled crowd jived and sang along to.
Blitzen Trapper &mdash made up of frontman Eric Earley, guitarist/synth player Erik Menteer, drummer Brian Adrian Koch, bassist Michael Van Pelt and guitarist Marty Marquis &mdash delivered a generous set, which featured banjos, harmonicas and lots of smiles and laughter.
During their encore, Earley performed a few slower solo pieces. During his set, a die-hard fan jumped on stage and began to sing with him. The crowd laughed and cheered in support of the woman who gazed admirably at Earley, who gladly shared his mic with her.
